These brownies taste as good as the real thing but with no refined sugar or grains. The chickpeas give them that moist, chewy texture, and the fibre from the chickpeas slows down the release of the natural sugar into your blood stream.
Sugar is a cause of inflammation in the body which wreaks havoc with our hormones and jeopardises our chance of conceiving. I'm always realistic with my clients about cutting our sugar completely - it's tough to do and not much fun - so I prefer to cut back as much as possible without having to forgo yummy food like chocolate brownies! With a few tweaks we can have our cake and eat it too.
